Ridiculously easy double chocolate Oreo bark, made with only three ingredients. A great snack that takes less than 10 minutes to throw together.
Are you ready for a super easy recipe today? It’s so easy that I would barely even classify it as a recipe. This Double Chocolate Oreo Bark is perfect for weeks like this when temperatures are meant to be scorching and you can’t bare to turn on the oven. It takes less than 10 minutes to throw together, consists of only three ingredients and makes the perfect snack.
I don’t know if you’ve heard this, but tomorrow is meant to be HOT in the UK. Like potentially the hottest temperature ever recorded. The previous hottest temperature ever was recorded in 2003. Do you know what temperature it got to? 38.5°C/101.3°F. That’s a regular summer day in Sydney! I’m still not looking forward to it though. I plan to stay in cool, dark places for as much of the day as possible. And while I sit in those cool, dark places I will be munching on this double chocolate Oreo bark. It will keep me from going heat crazy.
When making this recipe, I highly recommend you buy the best quality chocolate you can afford. I used dark chocolate, but milk chocolate would also work perfectly. It makes all the difference if you’ve got some quality chocolate up in there. You don’t want stuff that has such a high sugar content and low cocoa content that it tastes like a crayon. You know the waxy stuff I’m talking about. It’s just not nice. Go on, treat yourself to the good stuff!
Double Chocolate Oreo Bark
Prep Time: 5 minutes + 3 hours cooling
Cooking Time: 5 minutes
200-220g good quality milk or dark chocolate
200-220g good quality white chocolate
7 Oreo biscuits (half a 154g packet), broken roughly into quarters
- Line a large baking tray with baking paper or aluminium foil. Melt milk/dark chocolate in the microwave in 30 second intervals, stirring after each interval, until almost melted. Remove from microwave and stir until completely melted. Pour chocolate onto prepared tray, into a rough 25cm x 15cm rectangle.
- In a separate microwave-safe bowl, melt white chocolate in the microwave in 30 second intervals until almost melted. Remove from microwave and stir until completely melted. Carefully pour on top of milk/dark chocolate layer. The milk/dark chocolate layer will spread slightly.
- Sprinkle broken Oreos over the top of melted white chocolate, then refrigerate for at least 3 hours until chocolate has completely set. When set, break into smaller pieces and keep refrigerated until ready to serve.
